You don’t need to give a tip to make a request, but a tip definitely bumps you to the front of the line.

Please be reasonable here. First: It needs to be a song that the musicians and the audience know. We probably won't be playing deep album cuts or indie artists no one has heard of. Also, keep in mind most musicians at the jam aren't getting paid past tips, so if you're hoping for a prog rock epic or highly produced 80's song, make sure the tip reflects that.
Make sure to include the artist. Also, If you give us something like “Freebird” or “Sweet Caroline” the tip better be $100+ if you expect us to actually play it!
